Flying carbon neutral
As the first German Airport Köln Bonn Airport enables its passengers to offset the CO2-emissions of their flights. Through the independent organization myclimate you can make a voluntary contribution and make your flight carbon neutral. An emissions calculator calculates the costs to offset the same amount of CO2 emissions that your flight causes.
Your donations are invested into myclimate carbon offset projects in developing countries and emerging markets. They contribute to a direct emission reduction and reduce the same amount of emissions your flight has produced.
I want to offset my flight emissions!
How does CO2 offsetting work?
CO2 is produced when fossil fuels are burned, such as coal and petrol but also kerosene. Therefore every flight emits CO2. The amount of CO2 per passenger can be calculated. The passengers can then offset these CO2 emissions by voluntarily investing into carbon offset projects that reduce the same amount of CO2-that the flight has caused.
